In Trapped, a deeply emotional and thought-provoking drama, Daria, a first-generation immigrant, finds herself suffocating under the weight of her mother’s unhealed wounds. Raised in a household where silence is survival, she battles the ghosts of her lineage while navigating the pressures of cultural expectations and her own identity. When new opportunities force buried traumas to the surface, Daria embarks on a journey of self-discovery, uncovering painful truths that challenge everything she thought she knew about love, family, sacrifice, and resilience.

Through powerful storytelling, Trapped shines a light on the cycles of ancestral trauma within immigrant communities, illustrating the silent struggles passed down through generations. Written and directed by psychotherapist Mastaneh Moghadam, LCSW this feature-length film is a poignant exploration of mental health, intergenerational conflict, and the courage it takes to break free from inherited pain.
