The Man Who Saves the World

Executive produced by Academy Award-winner Peter Farrelly and comedy trailblazers Danny McBride, David Gordon Green, and Jody Hill (Rough House Pictures).

Resurrection, Indigenous prophecies, and adventures around the globe -- this is the story of Patrick McCollum.

When acclaimed director Gabe Polsky gets swept into the orbit of spiritual journeyman Patrick McCollum, it sparks a globe-spanning, transformative adventure where the absurd and the profound collide. Along the way, they cross paths with legends like Jane Goodall and Chief Phil Lane Jr. as Polsky uncovers a mission that might just be crazy enough to save the planet.

“The Man Who Saves the World? is one of my favorite documentaries in years — leave it to Gabe Polsky to track down and chronicle one of the most colorful characters and craziest stories ever captured on film.” – Scott Feinberg, The Hollywood Reporter

“Told through Polsky’s tenderly comic lens, The Man Who Saves the World? is a captivating portrait of the singular Patrick McCollum, an unlikely hero who communicates with plants, unites the world’s Indigenous groups, and survives death itself. McCollum's story underscores the enduring (and tragic) beauty of being true to oneself till the very end.” – Bill Keenan, Air Mail
