Under pressure from his agent George, Roman Novotny — once a celebrated screenwriter, now a faded echo of his former success — accepts a position at “Simula Peninsula,” an experimental vacation resort where all the guests are actors, all the staff are operators, and the scripts are written from within. That writer is Roman himself.

His task: deliver daily scenes and dialogue for this performative summer simulation. But as time passes, the lines between script, novel, and reality begin to collapse.

Enter Clara and Fiancé, a fictional characters from one of Roman’s scripts who is writing a novel describing the “primary reality” — one in which Roman exists. The problem? Fiancé writes through paranoia, despair, and emotional instability. His view of Roman is warped, raising the question: is Roman still real, or merely a projection of someone else’s fragility?
